I felt so sad when I read in the papers today that the two brothers that drowned in a lake last weekend both died. I felt so sorry for the other brother who lived (all 3 of them drowned) and the parents. They were there to celebrate the middle child's birthday and ended in tragedy. I would say it was meant to happen because the lake they were swimming was only 1 meter deep. But sometimes, you can't help but ask "God, why???" But who are we to question that? I know how it feels, it still hurts and is painful whenever I think of our little Sherard Floyd who was hit by a bus on his way home. That was almost 7 years ago (in July 20, 2 days before his Mom's birthday). Who'd ever get over a tragedy when your loved one is so young and was full of life. But oh, it's just one of the ways God is molding us -- He let things happen according to His plan and if only we accept that, things gets into better perspective. We'll never understand why but we can accept that it is always for the best. I'd say my nephew is blessed, he is now in heaven playing with the angels, with a heavenly body, in the presence of his creator. Who wouldn't want to be in that place where he is now, in the presence of God? I would love to, sometimes on my way home, anticipating how horrible the house would look like and how pathetic my life is because I can't move out of a "home" I never liked (I live with my father's relatives, need I say more?), I'd think and beg "Lord Jesus, please come back now!"
Is there such a thing as information overload? How about spiritual overload? There are so many books I have and wanted to read. Most of the time, I'd start reading then I'll lost interest because another one that needs to be read comes along. I was reading "A Fish without Water" then I figured I needed to read the Manual on 40 Days of Community (and I need to finish watching the videos too), and I read Our Daily Bread and of course the Bible every day. I also wanted to start Father Ten Boom.. Before that, I was reading "A Love Worth Giving" but I can't find the book, maybe it's in the midst of all my garbage in my room... arrrgggh! I need extra hours, please give me some!
